A guide for the

Swapping of Straps (Not quick-release)

Changing the strap is the simplest way to redefine the character of your watch, allowing your timepiece to evolve with your style. Whether you are transitioning from a classic leather band to a contemporary metal mesh or a durable organic canvas, the process is a masterclass in versatility.

Below is a guide on how to seamlessly swap your straps at home.

Tools Needed:
To ensure a precise change without marking the case, we recommend using a spring bar tool (as seen in the illustrations). If you do not have one, a small precision screwdriver or a similar fine-edged tool can be used with care.

1. Removing the Existing Strap (Refer to Illustration A)
  • Position the tool: Place your watch face-down on a soft cloth to protect the glass. Insert the fork end of the spring bar tool into the small gap between the watch lug (the metal "arm" of the case) and the side of the strap.

  • Compress the spring: Feel for the small ridge on the spring bar. Gently apply pressure inwards, pushing the spring bar toward the center of the strap to compress the internal spring.

  • Release: While the spring is compressed, carefully angle the strap away from the lug. Once one side is free, the entire strap and spring bar will lift out. Repeat this for the other half of the watch.

2. Preparing the New Strap
  • Insert the spring bars: Take the spring bars from your previous strap and slide them through the loops at the top of your new strap. Ensure they are centered so that both ends of the pin protrude equally.

3. Attaching the New Strap (Refer to Illustration B)
  • Seat the first pin: Insert one end of the spring bar into the small hole on the inside of the watch lug.

  • Compress and slide: Using your spring bar tool, compress the opposite end of the pin. While holding it down, slide the strap into position between the lugs.

  • Secure the fit: Release the tool and gently move the strap until you hear or feel the pin "click" into the corresponding hole on the lug.

4. Final Check
  • The Tug Test: Once both sides are attached, give each strap piece a firm but gentle tug. This ensures the spring bars are fully extended and locked into the holes.

Your watch is now transformed and ready for its next chapter. By mastering this simple swap, you ensure your piece remains a truly timeless staple in your collection. Best Wishes, TRIWA Team
